Description
This Pinot Noir dazzles with its brilliant ruby-red hue. On the nose, it bursts with the enticing aromas of ripe cherries and strawberries, beautifully interwoven with hints of cocoa and a touch of white pepper. The vibrant palate delivers a rush of juicy fruit, seamlessly balanced by silky, velvety tannins.
Michel Laroche discovered the Mas la Chevalière vineyards in 1995 after a decade-long quest to find the perfect Languedoc site for cultivating Chardonnay. Nestled near Béziers, he revitalised the vineyards and built the Mas la Chevalière winery, renowned for its cutting-edge energy management. At the helm is the gifted winemaker Géraud Blanc, who crafts wines that masterfully marry the lush ripeness of the Languedoc with a stunning, refreshing lift.
The grapes are carefully sourced from organic vineyards tended by growers with whom Géraud Blanc has nurtured long-standing partnerships. The Pinot Noir thrives in the Northern Gard, where the Cévennes foothills provide the ideal terroir. Here, only natural products are used — no synthetic pesticides or herbicides — and every step is meticulously carried out by hand. This dedication shines through in the purity of the fruit, the depth of flavour, and the elegant balance of the final wine.
Fermented for 12 days at 26°C - 28°C with daily pump-overs in stainless steel tanks, the wine undergoes 100% malolactic fermentation. It is then aged for six months in tanks before bottling, with minimal filtration to preserve its authentic character. The result? A Pinot Noir that’s alive with vibrant energy and captivating finesse.
